Rex Tillerson Wants To Calm Things Down With North Korea

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has decided to intervene in the crisis with North Korea and calm things down after President Trump issued another warning to the country on Tuesday.

“He has been very threatening beyond a normal state, and as I said they will be met with the fire and fury and frankly power, the likes of which this world has never seen before,” Trump stated.

Tillerson, who just returned from Southeast Asia, Wednesday, stated, “sending a strong message to North Korea in language that Kim Jong-un can understand, because he doesn’t seem to understand diplomatic language.”

He claimed that Trump wanted to avoid “any miscalculation” by North Korea.

After Trump’s statement, the North Korean regime responded with saying that was “carefully examining the operational plan for making an enveloping fire at the areas around Guam,” an island in the South Pacific where around 6,000 U.S. military personnel are stationed.

Tillerson stated that Americans “should sleep well at night.”

“I do not believe that there is any imminent threat from North Korea”, he stated.

“I think what the president was just reaffirming is that the United States has the capability to fully defend itself from any attack, and our allies, and we will do so,” Tillerson continued.

The North Korean dictator issued a warning to U.S. saying that it would “pay dearly,” after U.S. implemented sanctions on the country.

North Korea’s state-run news agency said, “Physical action will be taken mercilessly with the mobilization of all its national strength,” on Tuesday.

Tillerson claimed that Trump administration’s diplomatic strategy is working.

“The pressure is starting to show,” Tillerson stated. “I think that’s why the rhetoric coming out of Pyongyang is beginning to become louder and more threatening.”

“Whether we’ve got them backed into a corner or not is difficult to say, but diplomatically, you never like to have someone in a corner without a way for them to get out,” he continued.

Even though the countries are in crisis, Tillerson claimed that there is still a chance to have an open dialogue.

“Talks, with the right expectation of what those talks will be about,” Tillerson stated.

During a security forum in Manila, Tillerson stated, “The best signal that North Korea can give us that they are prepared to talk would be to stop these missile launches.”

“We are not your enemy, we are not your threat, but you are presenting an unacceptable threat to us and we have to respond. We would like to sit and have a dialogue about the future,” Tillerson said making a remark on the regime made this month.
