Critics Are Shredding Megyn’s New Show, She’s ‘Like A HomeGoods Catalog Brought To Life’

Former Fox News host Megyn Kelly is attempting to remake herself as a big liberal network personality along the lines of Katie Couric, and so far this experiment has not gone well for the network.

Kelly recently debuted her new morning show, which now follows the Today show on NBC, and reviews for her show have been savage, even from the liberal media. Said Hank Stuever of the Washington Post, “The debut was like watching a network try to assemble its own Bride of Frankenstein, using parts of Ellen DeGeneres, Kelly Ripa and whatever else it can find.”

CNN was marginally less unkind, with Brian Lowry stating, “It’s absurdly early, of course, to draw any conclusions about the efficacy of the Kelly experiment. After tepid marks for her prime time newsmagazine and now her addition to ‘Today,’ it’s worth considering that NBC News brass leapt at the opportunity to snag a high-profile news star without having fully thought through how best to deploy her.”

Feminist website Jezebel tore into Megyn’s show, writing, “Megyn Kelly danced into her studio, a blindingly lit and oversized HomeGoods catalog brought to life, while wearing a mauve pussy bow blouse.”

Megyn is trying to put a brave face on her situation, claiming, “I have a nice long runway. No one is expecting me to fly the plane perfectly and at 30,000 feet as soon as they turn the engine on. That takes some of the pressure off and allows me and my team to focus on content.” Do you think Kelly’s panned show will get canceled?
